Dedicated to fostering community awareness through first-hand experience of the natural environment of the Pocono Mountains, Monroe County Conservation District provides year-round environmental education programs for people of all ages. The 164-acre (66 ha) park features over 2.5 miles (4 km) of maintained and well marked trails.
In the northeast Poconos, the Delaware River has formed a water gap in the Appalachian Mountains, creating an optimal environment for outdoor recreation and appreciation. This 70,000-acre (28,328 ha) area draws in millions of people every year with features like beaches, boat launches, hiking and biking trails, climbing cliffs, waterfalls, and loads of wildlife.
Located at the end of Collins St. in South Stroudsburg, Glen Park provides public softball diamonds, soccer fields and bike trails. Fishing is permitted along Brodhead Creek.
At the corner of Broad St. and Ann St. this public park offers some prime fishing along McMicheal's Creek, and a good view of the falls there too.
This public park is located just across the river from East Stroudsburg. It features basketball courts, a playground and a sand volleyball court.
Bryant Park is located at the corner of Broad Street and Bryant Street. Grassy and relaxing, it is ideal for a picnic.
Located adjacent to the High School off of West Main Street, this park contains many recreational facilities. A new playground has been added and the pool has been remodeled to include a heating pool, diving tank, new slides and an upgrade to the bath house. Fishing is accessible from the park.
